Découvert avec son couvercle dans le quartier de Trinquetaille à Arles en 1891, sarcophage1 est un chef-d’œuvre, conservé au Musée départemental d’Arles. Son décor en frise continue représente la légende de Phèdre et Hippolyte. La cuve est pratiquement entière sauf deux lacunes importantes qui ont été pratiquées sur la face principale, probablement lors d’un pillage dans l’Antiquité....
