Predição do Somatotipo Usando Antropometria Craniofacial

Abstract

O somatotipo é uma teoria que afirma que o corpo humano é composto por três componentes principais: endomorfo, mesomorfo e ectomorfo. Ela é relevante nas áreas da medicina e educação física e é tradicionalmente estimada por meio de equipamentos de medição aplicados diretamente sobre o corpo por especialistas. Este trabalho investigou a estimativa do somatotipo a partir de características craniofaciais extraídas de imagens 2D de rostos. Oito modelos de regressão foram avaliados e os melhores resultados foram obtidos com o modelo SVR para o componente endomorfo, kNN para o componente ectomorfo e Regressão Linear para o mesomorfo. Os resultados podem ajudar em estudos futuros de características faciais como preditores aproximados do somatotipo.
