Abstract

Buah ranti hijau (Solanum nigrum L.) merupakan salah satu buah yang dikonsumsi untuk sayur dan lalapan di Indonesia, memiliki potensi untuk dijadikan sebagai terapi alternatif baik preventif / pencegahan maupun kuratif / pengobatan berbagai penyakit. Adapun potensi tersebut adalah sebagai antioksidan. Antioksidan didefinisikan sebagai senyawa yang mampu menunda, memperlambat, atau menghambat reaksi oksidasi yang menimbulkan kerusakan pada sel-sel tubuh yang memicu munculnya berbagai penyakit. Antioksidan alami merupakan jenis antioksidan yang berasal dari tumbuhan dan hewan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kadar antioksidan ekstrak buah ranti hijau (Solanum nigrum L.) dengan menggunakan pelarut etanol menggunakan metode spektrofotometri DPPH (2,2-Difenil-1-Pikrilhidrazil) dengan panjang gelombang 516 nm. Ekstraksi shokleting menggunakan pelarut etanol 96% dipilih oleh para peneliti untuk mengekstrak buah ranti hijau (Solanum nigrum L.). Hasil ekstraksi shokleting etanol 96% dengan perbandingan 1:7,5 diperoleh yield sebesar 11,91%. Analisis kandungan senyawa menunjukkan bahwa buah ranti hijau (Solanum nigrum L.) mengandung metabolit sekunder berupa alkaloid, saponin, tanin dan fenol. Untuk hasil antioksidan diperoleh nilai IC50 pada ekstrak etanol sebesar 24,47 μg/mL, untuk hasil antioksidan vitamin C diperoleh nilai IC50 sebesar 2,78 μg/mL
