Abstract

Este estudo analisa as relações semânticas entre os elementos verbais e imagéticos presentes em gêneros textuais multimodais contemporâneos. O objetivo central é investigar como essas materialidades interagem na construção do sentido textual, identificando relações de equivalência, superioridade e inferioridade informacional. A metodologia utilizada segue uma abordagem qualitativa e exploratória, fundamentada nas teorias de Santaella (2012) e Santaella e Nörth (1997), com a análise de três gêneros textuais multimodais retirados dos portais Folha de S. Paulo, Política Dinâmica e G1. Os resultados demonstram que a relação entre texto e imagem varia conforme o gênero: no primeiro caso, observa-se uma equivalência semântica; no segundo, a imagem assume protagonismo informacional; no terceiro, o texto verbal se sobressai. O estudo ressalta a importância da leitura multimodal no contexto educacional, contribuindo para o desenvolvimento de uma compreensão mais ampla e crítica dos textos contemporâneos.
