LOS MOCHICAS: UNA CIVILIZACIÓN COMPLEJA

Abstract

La cultura Moche, también conocida como mochica, se desarrolló en el período Intermedio Temprano del Antiguo Perú, aproximadamente en los siglos I y VII. Fue una civilización que existió en la costa norte del Perú y en el valle Moche. Sobresaliendo por sus invenciones hidráulicas, su arquitectura monumental, su exquisito desarrolló artístico, especialmente en los campos de la orfebrería y la cerámica.Durante el apogeo de la cultura mochica realizaron importantísimas obras arquitectónicas, también conocidas como huacas, que han perdurado a lo largo del tiempo, convirtiéndose en parte de un legado cultural y ancestral.Los mochicas habían convertido la desértica costa peruana en su hogar, pero a consecuencia del terrible fenómeno meteorológico conocido como El Niño, que ocurrió a finales del siglo VII, arruinando el modo de vivir de los mochicas, incluso muchos de los habitantes comenzaron a enfermar. Además, debilitó la organización política, pues muchos de los líderes iniciaron guerras internas, lo que generó el fin de los estados de mochica.
