Abstract

El objetivo de este artículo es extraer las similitudes y las diferencias entre la historia y la literatura en el ámbito estético. Para ello, se realiza una comparación entre las dos y se divide en tres grupos: el primero, el de los componentes conceptuales, abarca el tema y el fondo; el segundo, los componentes formales como el substrato, la modalidad y la genericidad y, finalmente, el de los componentes funcionales comprende la comunicación y la ficcionalización. Las dos actividades, literatura e historiografía, son necesarias y ambas pueden producir obras de un considerable nivel estético. La historia, sin embargo, se caracteriza por la objetividad y la imparcialidad. Así, se concluye con que el valor de la historia reside en su capacidad de representar el pasado tal como era y hacerlo comprensible a las personas de épocas posteriores.
