La nueva edición del Libro de Alexandre, realizada por Juan Casas Rigall para Castalia, constituye un modelo de labor editorial cuidada, seria, honesta y sugestiva en extremo, que coloca en su lugar un texto esencial. Merecen aplauso tanto el trabajo del editor como la decisión de Editorial Castalia de encomendar a Juan Casas Rigall la arriesgada empresa de editar correctísima y esclarecedoramente el Libro de Alexandre. Éste siempre ha sido un clásico; este nuevo volumen de la «Nueva Biblioteca de Erudición y Crítica» lo demuestra con creces. Se comentan en esta nota-reseña las virtudes de dicha edición, y se desarrollan algunos aspectos sugeridos por la “nueva vida” textual de la que gozará el Libro de Alexandre de ahora en adelante.
