Financial and Economic Analyses of Conventional and Reduced Impact Harvesting Systems

Abstract

Cet article examine les différentes nouvelles technologies engagées et améliore les activités d'exploitation forestière attribuées à la pratique « Logfisher » (LP) plutôt qu'à la pratique conventionnelle (CP). Le résultat de l'analyse des coûts montre que le coût constitue dans le cadre de la LP est plus élevé que dans le cadre de la CP. Le coût total moyen incrémental par ha a augmenté de 46,86% à 13 576 RM/ha. Alors que le coût total moyen incrémental par m 3 a augmenté de 57,41% à RM267.80/m 3. Par conséquent, la CP était légèrement plus rentable et dépasse la valeur actuelle nette (VAN) de la LP. De manière similaire, le rapport avantages-coûts (BCR) pour la CP est meilleur que la LP.D' autre part, le résultat de l'analyse économique de la période de 40 ans a montré que le système LP (VAN = 9302 RM/ha) a fourni un niveau plus élevé d'avantages globaux et de bien-être à la société dans son ensemble par opposition à la CP (VAN = 8497 RM/ha).

Este documento examina las diversas nuevas tecnologías comprometidas y mejora las actividades de tala atribuidas en la Práctica 'Logfisher' (LP) en lugar de la Práctica Convencional (CP). El resultado del análisis de costos muestra que el costo constituye bajo LP es más alto que bajo CP. El promedio incremental por ha de costo total aumentó en 46.86% a RM13,576/ha. Mientras que el promedio incremental por m 3 de costo total aumentó en 57.41% a RM267.80/m 3. Por lo tanto, CP fue ligeramente más rentable y excede el Valor Actual Neto (NPV) de LP. De manera similar, la Ración Beneficio-Cos (BCR) para CP es mejor que LP. Por otro lado, el resultado del análisis económico del período de 40 años mostró que el sistema LP (NPV = RM9302/ha) proporcionó un mayor nivel de beneficios globales y bienestar a la sociedad en su conjunto en oposición a CP (NPV = RM8497/ha).

This paper examines the various committed new technology and improve logging activities ascribed in the 'Logfisher' Practice (LP) rather than Conventional Practice (CP).The result of cost analysis shows that the cost constitutes under LP is higher than under CP.Incremental average per ha total cost rose by 46.86% to RM13,576/ha.While the incremental average per m 3 total cost increased by 57.41% to RM267.80/m 3 .Hence, CP was slightly more profitable and exceeds the Net Present Value (NPV) of LP.Similarly, the Benefit-Cost Ration (BCR) for CP is better than LP.On the other hand, the result of the economic analysis of 40-year period showed that the LP system (NPV = RM9302/ha) provided a higher level of overalls benefits and welfare to the society as a whole as opposed to CP (NPV = RM8497/ha).
