Abstract

Desde finales del siglo XX, el ascenso de grupos conservadores y reaccionarios en Occidente ha generado un profundo interés en las derechas y su vínculo con el cristianismo. Este volumen analiza la “marea azul” que los ha llevado al poder en Europa y América Latina, destacando la preeminencia del neopentecostalismo en la región sobre el catolicismo histórico. La obra explora cómo estos movimientos usan redes sociales para difundir posverdades, polarizar y legitimar la violencia invocando “Dios, Patria y Hogar”. A través de una revisión histórica, comparada e interdisciplinaria, este libro sitúa el fenómeno religioso en el centro del análisis. Ofrece una mirada profunda sobre la compleja relación entre cristianismo y derechas en América Latina, abarcando desde la evolución del catolicismo hasta la influencia evangélica en diversas coyunturas políticas y sociales, como las fronteras o los regímenes autoritarios. Su lectura rigurosa busca desechar “fáciles certezas”, invitando al lector a una comprensión matizada del fenómeno.
