
Ao mesmo tempo em que pertence ainda à hermenêutica kantiana do Besserverstehen, ou seja, do entender um autor melhor do que ele mesmo se entendeu, a teoria da tradução de Friedrich Schlegel postula a necessidade do rigor filológico e da observação da letra e do espírito do texto a ser traduzido. O artigo investiga e discute a aproximação entre a filologia e as teorias da tradução do Primeiro Romantismo Alemão, sobretudo nas teorizações de Friedrich Schlegel, Friedrich von Hardenberg, Friedrich Daniel Ernst Schleiermacher e August Wilhelm Schlegel.
