Studies on dysfemism are related to the linguistic taboo. It is considered to be a rude, pejorative and disrespectful expression, completely opposed to euphemism; but it constitutes an extraordinary contribution to the richness of Nicaraguan speech. Because this people never elude the ugly and disgusting; Within the great variety that the language offers, they prefer the rough terms, if possible malsonant and direct, without putting on the truth “even if it hurts”. That is part of the essence of dysfemism offending the listener; nevertheless the humor and the jocosidad inherent to the ingenuity of the Nicaraguans are essential characteristics for the creation of dysfemistic expressions that have as intention of the author to laugh at the defects of the others and of the own ones.
