In many patients, abdominal pain and steatorrhea can be managed effectively by enzyme supplementation, provided such supplements are administered in appropriate formulations and doses. Definition and correction of mechanical problems are possible by modern endoscopic approaches, and surgery plays an important role in the management of local and regional complications of the disease.
