Abstract

La materialización de la noción abstracta de dignidad humana requiere incorporar al discurso conceptos nuevos y emergentes que, en ocasiones retomando tesis pasadas, favorezcan a la reformulación conjunta de los valores liberales ilustrados de dignidad. El objetivo es equilibrar la dimensión individual y social. En concreto, en este trabajo, se sugiere que para poder reconducir un diálogo interno y social sobre uno de esos valores, el de la solidaridad, se precisa reconocer las diversas situaciones de vulnerabilidad humana. De esta manera, se propone que no hay solidaridad sin el reconocimiento de la vulnerabilidad humana. La vulnerabilidad humana ha emergido como un concepto clave en el discurso filosófico jurídico en relación a la autonomía y la igualdad. Este trabajo conecta vulnerabilidad y solidaridad, ya que la vulnerabilidad acentúa la idea del «nosotros» y la articulación de políticas públicas de solidaridad. En esta línea es fundamental incidir en que la vulnerabilidad no es opuesta a la autonomía. Tampoco debe confundirse o sustituirse por el valor de igualdad. En general, esta noción es muy interesante, como complemento del discurso de los valores yderechos, aunque no como suplente de aquel. Es especialmente atrayente por su conexión con la solidaridad.
