Archaeological works were carried out on behalf of Anglepark Quarries Anglepark Quarries with respect to the remaining areas for extraction within the Approach Wood at Mountcastle Quarry, Fife. All of the fifteen trenches revealed natural subsoil which in all of the trenches was uniformed moderately compacted with some variation. There was no evidence of significant archaeological remains or artefacts found during the course of the evaluation works within the proposed development area.
