Educational leaders understand the importance of establishing trust with stakeholders and its positive effects on a school’s success. This study addressed a stakeholders’ lack of trust in a school’s administration, partly due to a breakdown in the process of building trusting relationships and effective communication. Educational leaders face many challenges such as diverse stakeholder groups, time, and past experiences. The purpose of this study was to use a trust framework of benevolence, reliability, competence, honesty, and openness to establish trust with stakeholders. Two plan-do-study-act cycles were conducted focusing on reliability and openness to provide professional recommendations to educational leaders on how to effectively build trust with teachers and parents. The results indicated that trust can be built, however, gaining someone’s trust is complex, depending on experiences and relationships.
