Most of the research on the development of Mexico shows us that the country has been regionally unbalanced and the trend points to a worsening of these imbalances in the future, so that facing this scenario are the state governments, educational entities, and the municipal governments, which must assume a position of proactive leadership that makes it possible to combat social problems in each of the regions. It is time to rethink social responsibility in all its dimensions and levels, to jointly improve competitiveness and thus improve the quality of life of the countrys inhabitants. This document presents the results of the research Study of poverty in the municipalities of the state of Yucatan, Mexico. Index 2020 Which proposes an analysis of various variables that influence the measurement of poverty, through the Social Gap Index (IRS) designed by the National Council for the Evaluation of Social Development Policy (CONEVAL) to determine the existing asymmetries in each municipality. from the state of Yucatan, Mexico. La mayoria de las investigaciones sobre el desarrollo de Mexico, nos muestran que el pais ha sido regionalmente desequilibrado y la tendencia apunta a un agravamiento de esos desequilibrios en el futuro, por lo que frente a este panorama son los gobiernos estatales, las entidades educativas y los gobiernos municipales los que deben asumir una posicion de liderazgo proactivo que permita combatir los problemas sociales en cada una de las regiones. Es hora de replantear la responsabilidad social en todas sus dimensiones y niveles, para mejorar de manera conjunta la competitividad y asi mejorar la calidad de vida de los habitantes del pais.
