14. Dermacentor halli MacIntosh, 1931. Nearctic: 1) Mexico (north), 2) USA; Neotropical: 1) Mexico (south) (Apanaskevich & Bermúdez 2013, Guzmán Cornejo et al. 2016, Guglielmone et al. 2021). Apanaskevich & Bermúdez (2013) stated that the figures of Dermacentor halli in Yunker et al. (1986) correspond to Dermacentor panamensis. Records of Dermacentor halli from Costa Rica, Guatemala and Panama were all reclassified as Dermacentor panamensis by Apanaskevich & Bermúdez (2013), confirming the view of Fairchild et al. (1966), who found morphological differences between Dermacentor halli specimens collected in Central America and those found in North America.
