STATUS: CITES - Appendix I; U.S. ESA and IUCN - Endangered. SYNONYMS: anoa, celebensis, fergusoni, platycerus. COMMENTS: Includes anoa; see Groves (1982e). Formerly included in Anoa but placed in genus Bubalus, subgenus Anoa by Groves (1969b:3).
