(1986: 1105) under the actual name, and by Bath in Quéro et al. (1990: 911-912) under the name Paralipophrys trigloides. Taxonomic decision of Almada et al. (2005). * Ophioblennius atlanticus (Valenciennes, 1836) —Redlip blenny * Parablennius incognitus (Bath, 1968) Not mentioned from Madeira by Zander in Whitehead et al., 1986: 1107) but recorded from Madeira by Bath in Quéro et al. (1990: 909) on the basis of a letter by G.E. Maul (1974). * Parablennius parvicornis (Valenciennes, 1836) —Rock-pool blenny Almada et al. (2001: 412) tentatively synonymized Parablennius parvicornis with P. sanguinolentus (Pallas, 1814). Almada et al. (2005), however, demonstrated that the two are different species due to significant genetic distance.
