Characidae Bryconamericus cristiani Román-Valencia, 1999: 110, fig. 1. Holotype (Fig. 6): ICN-MHN 3445, male (62.0 mm SL). Colombia, Meta, along the road Villavicencio–Acacias, vereda Brisas de Guayuriba, close to school crossing the bridge of Guayuriba River, Caño Cayupe, tributary of Guayuriba River, upper Meta, eastern versant, Cordillera Oriental, 04°07’N, 74°15'W; G. Galvis, Oct 1995. Paratypes: ICN-MHN 3446 (9, 35.2–68.7 mm SL), collected with the holotype. ICN-MHN 3447 (7, 68.0– 63. 9 mm SL), Colombia, Casanare, road Yopal – El Morro, Cravo Sur River basin, quebrada Aguatoca; J. Hernández, 18 Feb 1998. Remarks: Román-Valencia (2000) cited the lot ICN-MHN 2339 as presenting 21 specimens but we found instead 31 specimens, and for the lot ICN-MHN 2349 seven specimens, while we found 12 specimens. Currently treated as Eretmobrycon dahli (Thomaz et al., 2015). Bryconamericus galvisi Román-Valencia, 2000: 457, fig. 5. Holotype (Fig. 8): ICN-MHN 2720, male (70.3 mm SL), Colombia, Putumayo, Sibundoy, Valle de Sibundoy, upper basin of Putumayo River, eastern versant, Cordillera Central, 05°00’N 77°23'W; J. Rodríguez, 13 Jul 1993. Paratypes: ICN-MHN 2721 (12, 36.8–73.3 mm SL), collected with the holotype. Remarks: currently treated as Hemibrycon galvisi (Thomaz et al., 2015). Bryconamericus ichoensis Román-Valencia, 2000: 455, fig. 3. Holotype (Fig. 9): ICN-MHN 2718 (31.6 mm SL), Colombia, Chocó, San Francisco de Ichó, quebrada Chaparraidó, tributary of Ichó River, Atrato River basin, western versant, Cordillera Occidental. ca. 05°38' N 76°38'W; C. Román-Valencia, Y. Palacios & C. Román-P, 20 Dec 1997. Paratypes: ICN-MHN 2719 (10, 22.8–32.5 mm SL), collected with the holotype. Bryconamericus multiradiatus Dahl, 1960a: 471, unnumbered fig. Holotype (Fig. 10): ICN-MHN 82 (27.0 mm SL), Colombia, Antioquia, Riosucio, Atrato River, western versant, Cordillera Occidental; G. Dahl, 8 Sep 1959. Paratypes: ICN-MHN 58 (4), collected with the holotype. Remarks: paratypes are on loan. Bryconamericus plutarcoi Román-Valencia, 2001: 470, fig. 1. Holotype (Fig. 11): ICN-MHN 4886 (52.0 mm SL), Colombia, Santander, quebrada Santa Rosa, Suárez River drainage, Magdalena River basin, 06°26'09"N 73°18'56”W; P. Cala, 2 Feb 1971. Paratypes: ICN-MHN 4887 (6, 47.8–69.9 mm SL), collected with the holotype. Remarks: Mojica & Castellanos (2007) mistakenly listed the paratypes as ICN 10019. Currently treated as Hemibrycon plutarcoi (Thomaz et al., 2015). Creagrutus atratus Vari & Harold, 2001: 66, figs. 24–25. Creagrutus nigrostigmatus Dahl, 1960c: 353, unnumbered fig. Neotype (Fig. 14): ICN-MHN 989 (23.4 mm SL) (designated by Harold & Vari, 1994: 10), Colombia, Bolívar, Toluviejo, Arroyo (Caño) Pechilín, a small stream draining into the Caribbean Sea, west of the Magdalena River; C. Román-Valencia, 13 Nov 1985. Remarks: the type series was lost according to Cala (1981) and Román-Valencia & Cala (1997). Dahl (1960c) indicate that some paratypes were sent to the Museo Departamental de Montería, an institution that we were unable to trace. The neotype (ICN-MHN 989) was found in the general collection with five other specimens. In the redescription of the species, Harold & Vari (1994:10) did not assigned a new catalog number for these specimens, citing them as: …” ICNMHN ex. 989, 7 (17.5–20.5, collected with the neotype)…”. For these specimens, we assigned a new catalog number, ICN-MHN 19385. Gephyrocharax sinuensis Dahl & Medem, 1964:1, unnumbered fig. Neotype: ICN-MHN 18999, male (32.1 mm SL) (designated by Vanegas-Ríos, 2017: 6), Colombia, Córdoba, upper Sinú River, western versant, Cordillera Occidental; G. Dahl, Dec 1958. Paratypes: ICN-MHN 749 (78, 16.1–40.8 mm SL), collected with the neotype. Remarks: the paratypes were loaned to S. Weitzman (USNM) and still have not being returned to ICN-MHN. The annotation of the loan invoice indicates 80 specimens, but Vanegas-Ríos (2016) cited 78 specimens, while in the catalog the count is given as 72 specimens. Hemibrycon carrilloi Dahl, 1960a: 467, unnumbered fig. Paratypes (Fig. 15): ICN-MHN 126 (3, 29.3–50 mm SL), Colombia, Chocó, Paravandó, Baudó River system; G. Dahl, 23 Nov 1959. Remarks: Dahl (1960a) cited four paratypes, one collected with the holotype (Quebrada La Noche, tributary to the upper Atrato, 23 Nov 1959) and three additional paratypes from Paravandó, Baudó River system. These latter paratypes were found in the general collection with a new identification, but fortunately with the original old label intact. Holotype (Fig. 16): ICN-MHN 6703 (43.2 mm SL), Colombia, Risaralda, Apía, San Rafael Creek, Apía River drainage, on the road Santuario–Apía. Weitzman in the 80´s and later was sent to Barry Chernoff at FMNH (Kris Murphy pers. comm). Currently at FMNH. Parastremma pulchrum Dahl, 1960a: 472, unnumbered fig. Holotype: ICN-MHN 204 (100.0 mm SL), Colombia, Chocó, quebrada Becordó, San Juan River basin, western versant, Cordillera Occidental; G. Dahl, 7 Nov 1959.
