PINCTADA FUCATA (GOULD, 1850) Tataku-Jima, Miije Prefecture, Japan (four pairs with tissue; AMNH 179633); West Indian Ocean, station H35, 3 mi north-north-east of Nossi Fali, east of Nossi Bé, north-west Madagascar, 16.5 m, mud, sand, broken shells (26 pairs; AMNH 97134); West Pacific, Nada, Wakayama Prefecture, Japan, collected in net for spiny lobster at 5–18.2 m on rocky bottom (three pairs; AMNH 307417); West Pacific, Padada Beach, Gulf of Davao, Celebes Sea, Philippines (approximately 40 valves; AMNH 181309).
