ORDER CETACEA Brisson, 1762 Eight families, 26 genera and 37 species of cetaceans that occur in Korea are classified in two Suborders, Mysticeti and Odontoceti, occur in Korea. We followed the List of Marine Mammal Species and Subspecies (Committee on Taxonomy 2014) for the common and scientific names of Korean cetaceans. Except for species listed in Appendix I (see below), all species of the order Cetacea are in CITES Appendix II.
