Language of sports journalism in teaching Russian as a foreign language

Abstract

The paper deals with the use of mass media texts for the development of communicative and professional competencies of students studying Russian as a foreign language. Based on the Web-publication dedicated to the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the features of the language of sports are described. The attention is focused on the challenges students face when working with specialized texts. The article reveals the criteria for selecting the content and methods of teaching, provides recommendations for choosing activities for new language material assimilation.
