Allium cepa Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 1: 300. 1753. "Habitat - - - –” RCN: 2376. Lectotype (de Wilde-Duyfjes in Taxon 22: 64. 1973): Herb. A. van Royen No. 908.105-610 (L). Current name: Allium cepa L. (Liliaceae / Alliaceae). Note: Although de Wilde-Duyfjes treated her chosen type as a neotype, the van Royen material is original material for the name and so is a lectotype (Art. 9.8).
