Sinapis brassicata Linnaeus, Systema Naturae, ed. 12, 3: 231. 1768. "Habitat in China." RCN: 4862. Neotype (Al-Shehbaz in Cafferty & Jarvis in Taxon 51: 535. 2002): China. Kwangtung Province, Honam, 22 Feb 1922, Kang Peng s.n. (BM-000576292; iso- IBSC). Current name: Brassica oleracea L. (Brassicaceae). Note: Bailey (in Gentes Herb. 1: 101. 1922), in the absence of any herbarium material or cited illustrations, treated this as a nomen dubium. The neotype designated by Al-Shehbaz reduces the name to a synonym of B. oleracea.
