Fabaceae

Authors: Jarvis, Charlie;
Abstract

Hedysarum coronarium Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 2: 750. 1753. "Habitat in Italiae pratis." RCN: 5533. Lectotype (Jafri in Jafri & El-Gadi, Fl. Libya 86: 139. 1980): Herb. Linn. No. 921.57 (LINN). Current name: Sulla coronaria (L.) Medik. (Fabaceae: Faboideae). Note: Although H. coronarium had long been treated as the generitype, Choi & Ohashi (in Taxon 47: 877. 1998) successfully proposed H. alpinum as the conserved type of Hedysarum in its place. This was because H. coronarium L. belongs to a small section of the genus which is likely to be segregated from Hedysarum in the near future.
