Sathyrus arethusa subsp. strumata Buresch 1919

Authors: Abadjiev, Stanislav; Langourov, Mario;

Sathyrus arethusa subsp. strumata Buresch 1919

Abstract

ocellata Buresch, 1919 “ Sathyrus [sic] arethusa strumata nov. subsp. forma ocellata ” (Buresch 1919: 229). “Kressnaschlucht… Scheitan Dere” [Bulgaria: Kresna Gorge: Oshtavska Reka] (Buresch 1919: 228, 229). ♂ (Fig. 19) with labels: (1) printed (on white paper) “ Pirin Pl. Scheitan | Dere bei Kresna | D.Iltschew. 13-VIII 1917 ”; (2) printed (on white paper) “NMNHS-INV-T-01015”; (3) printed (on red paper) “ PARALECTOTYPE ♂ | Satyrus arethusa strumata | Buresch, 1918 | Abadjiev & Langourov design. 2020”; (4) printed (on white paper) “HO- LOTYPE ♂ | [Satyrus arethusa strumata] | forma ocellata | Buresch, 1918 | Abadjiev & Langourov design. 2020”. The original description (Buresch 1919) clearly mentions a single male specimen, a paralectotype from the type series of Satyrus arethusa strumata Buresch, 1919 (see also specimen with identifier “NMNHS-INV-T-01015”, account “ strumata Buresch, 1919” below). The date is, however, 13 August, as with all the specimens of the type series of strumata, and not July, “ 13. 7. 1917 ”, as it was stated originally. Infrasubspecific, not an available name, Article 10.2 (ICZN 1999).
