Abstract

La leishmaniasis es una enfermedad producida por la picadura de algunas especies dedípteros de la subfamilia Phlebotominae (mantablanca), infectados con parásitos del género Leishmania. En Ecuador, cerca del 97% de los casos de leishmaniasis son del tipo cutáneo, viendo el patrón mucocutáneo de baja presentación con número de casos mucocutáneos son 34, 21, 30 y 34 para los años 2018, 2019, 2020 y 2021. Se realizó un estudio descriptivo transversal sobre los registros clínico epidemiológicos de los pacientes procedentes de los cantones La Concordia y Santo Domingo, de la provincia Santo Domingo de Los Tsachilas, durante el 2018 a 2021. El muestreo fue no probabilístico, se seleccionaron las fichas e instrumentos disponibles. Se incluyó a todo paciente que presentó lesión ulcerada o no, con un tiempo de evolución igual o mayor a 2 semanas. Se corroboraron datos de los registros de atenciones ambulatorias y unidad de estadística. Se observó la ocurrencia en la provincia Santo Domingo de Los Tsachilas, oscilando cerca del 10% para los años de estudio, con respecto al total nacional. La tasa anual por 10000 habitantes para el periodo evaluado oscila entre 1,84 y 2,24 casos.
