Abstract

Fra Smart cities til Rygter fra randområderne Den sidste udgivelse i år var oprindeligt tiltænkt temaet Smart Cities. Begrebet må ligge top 10 over mest hypede ord lige nu, og et google-opslag medfører 127millioner hits. Grunden til den voldsomme interesse i emnet Smart Cities kan blandt andet ses i lyset af, at begrebet er et interdisciplinært emne, der har rødder i byplanlægning,økonomi, mobilitet, miljø, bosætning samt ledelse og forvaltning. Geoforum afholdte i foråret en konference over emnet, og derfor var det af mange grunde relevant og oplagt at sætte emnet som ramme for en udgivelse. Desværre viste det sig sværere end ventet at få artiklerne i hus, og samtidig med dette meldte en gæsteredaktør sig på banen med et forslag. Derfor blev temaet Smart Cities slået af pinden til fordel for en udgivelse om randområderne, hvilket må siges atvære et pudsigt paradoks. Bliv klogere på udkantsdanmark, - og de udfordringer alene afgrænsning heraf rummer - i denne udgivelse
