El narcocorrido mexicano: ¿la violencia como discurso identitario?

Abstract

Frente a los intentos de contención y censura de los narcocorridos por parte de las autoridades so pretexto de incitación a la violencia y al consumo de drogas, este trabajo propone una explicación diferente de su función y eficacia propia. Su punto de partida es la enorme difusión y la recepción masiva de este género musical principalmente entre los jóvenes urbanos marginados, y su objetivo central explicarlas desde una perspectiva antropológica, no por su contenido particular, sino por su contexto de recepción, por su relativa continuidad con la tradición cultural mexicana de los corridos de valientes, y, sobre todo, por su función de “discurso oculto” que permite expresar oblicuamente la rebelión de los jóvenes frente a su situación de marginación y de malestar social.
