Abstract

Aunque se ha demostrado reiteradamente que la velocidad de denominación (RAN) está relacionada con el acceso y el desarrollo de la lectura, la naturaleza de este vínculo aún no ha sido claramente establecida. Actualmente, las funciones ejecutivas, especialmente el control inhibitorio, se consideran como uno de los posibles factores explicativos de esta relación. Esto ha provocado la aparición de nuevas propuestas de RAN, con una mayor demanda de control inhibitorio durante la ejecución. Sin embargo, todavía son pocos los estudios que han utilizado este tipo de RAN, especialmente en estudiantes prelectores, y faltan datos sobre la validez de estas nuevas pruebas. Para analizar la validez concurrente y predictiva de esta prueba, se realizó un estudio longitudinal en el que participaron 82 niñas y niños de 4 años. En el momento 1, completaron dos pruebas RAN: una que exigía un mayor control inhibitorio y otra tradicional (no alfanumérica). En el momento 2, dos años después, el mismo grupo de estudiantes fue evaluado en diferentes medidas de lectura. Los resultados muestran que la RAN Inhibición presenta una buena validez predictiva sobre la lectura, especialmente en la decodificación de palabras. Es superior en varios aspectos a las pruebas RAN tradicionales, con las que, sin embargo, ha mostrado una validez concurrente moderada. Esto también parece apoyar la hipótesis de que el control inhibitorio podría ser un nuevo factor explicativo en la relación entre RAN y lectura
