There is a traditionally deep interest between Estonia, Finland and Hungary based on linguistic relations. The paper describes projects survival.hu and Te-Le-Hu, the aim of the projects was competence building of teachers of Hungarian working in liberal adult educational institutions. Survival.hu was a communicative beginners teaching package of Hungarian language for Finns. The learning and teaching material (textbooks, teachers' books, phrase book, 2 CD and short course for television focusing on tourism and culture) has been warmly welcomed by learners and teachers, the materials have been used in Estonia too. During the Te-Le-Hu project there were held teachers' seminars in Helsinki, in Budapest and seminar for leaners in Kasmu. The benefit of the projects was sharing of good practices, creating new contacts and an European network for teachers of Hungarian for participating countries.
