Abstract

Valtaosa vieraan kielen aikuisopiskelijoista on hyvin tietoisia siita, etta aidinkieli kummittelee tavalla tai toisella, joskus enemman, joskus vahemman, opittavan kielen tuottamisessa ja tuotoksissa. Aika merkillisena voidaan siksi pitaa sita, etta toisen kielen oppimista koskevassa teoreettisessa ajattelussa ja tutkimuksessa oli pitka vaihe 1980- ja 1990-luvulla, jolloin monet tutkijat lahes kokonaan kielsivat aidinkielen ja myohemmin omaksuttujen kielten valisen vuorovaikutuksen olemassaolon. Toisen kielen oppimisen ja kaksikielisyyden tutkimuksen varhaisvaiheissa 1940-luvulla ja 1950-luvulla uusi kieli oli nahty ikaan kuin suodattuneena aidinkielen lapi.
