Abstract

Andrija Mohorovicic (1857-1936) is a world-famous Croatian geophysicist and the discoverer of the Earth's crust/mantle boundary known as the Moho-discontinuity. The historical seismometer used by A. Mohorovicic to detect the Moho in 1909 is still maintained in working conditions, and is displayed in the Department of Geophysics of the University of Zagreb, Croatia, together with memorabilia from his office.
