Abstract This guidance document presents the position of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) on the importance of scholarship to the growth, development, and vitality of the profession and describes the range of scholarly activities that will advance the profession. In addition, this guidance document serves to inform both internal and external audiences concerning the expectations for—and the role of—scholarship in occupational therapy practices.
