Abstract

El ausentismo laboral del personal de enfermería, es un problema que enfrentan muchas unidades de salud, ya que impide brindar atención con calidad y eficiencia en las unidades de medicina familiar. El objetivo de este estudio fue realizar un diagnóstico acerca de los factores que provocan el ausentismo, mostrar cuatro modelos que permitan entender este fenómeno en su contexto, y fundamentarla actuación de quienes administran el departamento de enfermería. Para evaluar el tema en estudio, se analizó la plantilla de personal la cual indicaba el nivel de ausentismo que prevalecía en la unidad; los resultados obtenidos reflejan como principal causa no previsible, el ambiente laboral adverso, relacionando éste con problemas familiares y enfermedad, haciendo evidente la importancia de analizar sistemáticamente este fenómeno, con el fin de obtener información oportuna que favorezca llevar a cabo medidas orientadas a controlar las diferentes variables asociadas, favoreciendo así la eficiencia administrativa. Se concluye que se hace necesario examinar las necesidades y satisfactores del personal, para conocer sus opiniones, puntos de vista y perspectivas sobre este problema, y con ello identificar las percepciones de las enfermeras, sobre las causas del ausentismo injustificado, sobre todo en grupos o turnos donde se incrementa el fenómeno.
