Estudio descriptivo transversal de funciones metacognitivas en estudiantes universitarios

Abstract

PROBLEMA: evaluación de habilidades metacognitivas en estudiantes universitarios para entender cómo planifican, monitorean, evalúan y regulan su proceso de aprendizaje. OBJETIVO: analizar y evaluar las habilidades metacognitivas de los estudiantes universitarios utilizando el Inventario de Conciencia Metacognitiva (MAI). MÉTODO: estudio descriptivo de corte transversal con enfoque analítico RESULTADOS: los resultados del estudio revelaron que el 51.43% de los estudiantes presentaron niveles bajos de metacognición, el 30.26% niveles altos y el 18.31% niveles medios. Las habilidades de monitoreo destacaron con un Odds Ratio (OR) de 3.932 y un valor p < 0.0005, lo que indica una diferencia significativa en comparación con las otras habilidades. La planificación mostró un OR de 1.397 y la evaluación un OR de 1.365, ambas también con valores p < 0.0005. La regulación cognitiva presentó un OR de 0.715, con un valor p < 0.0005, señalando que estas habilidades varían considerablemente entre los estudiantes evaluados. CONCLUSION: los resultados indican una prevalencia significativa de habilidades metacognitivas bajas en los estudiantes universitarios, especialmente en las áreas de planificación y monitoreo. Es crucial implementar estrategias educativas que fortalezcan estas habilidades para mejorar el aprendizaje autorregulado.
