
Analizamos en este artículo cómo los dos primeros continuadores de La Celestina (1499-1502) de Fernando de Rojas, Feliciano de Silva (1534) y Gaspar Gómez (1536), convierten a la alcahueta epónima en un personaje resueltamente iracundo, y cómo esta caracterización apenas esbozada en el hipotexto, señal del agotamiento del personaje y del tipo que encarna y su progresiva desfuncionalización, no solo influye en la trama, sino que, sobre todo, contribuye a darle al lector la impresión de que algo está a punto de ocurrir, creando una ambiente de tensión, así como una serie de expectativas que, muchas veces, se frustran.
