Abstract

En los últimos años, la materialidad ha ganado presencia en los estudios del pensamiento, desbordando el marco representacional desde el que tradicionalmente se ha abordado la imagen. La agencia que se reconoce en la materia para afectar y ser afectada por el entorno se plantea aquí en el campo del arte poniendo el énfasis en las intraacciones mantenidas en contactos extraartísticos que transforman las imágenes capturadas por el dispositivo tecnológico. Así, el devenir de la imagen fotográfica acontece como proceso abierto a la alteridad en tanto que materia relacional y procesual, lo que contraviene los marcos de comprensión que la habían fijado como objeto estable y cerrado a la mirada. Producidas por terceras personas y con voluntades ajenas a las que hoy les dan sentido, estas imágenes heridas —como las recolectadas por Akram Zaatari en el Arab Image Foundation—, han ingresado al espacio expositivo. En un contexto de crisis ecológica, se plantea la posibilidad de que estos procesos de trabajo con imágenes preexistentes interpelen no solo a la sobreproducción visual, sino a la potencia crítica que convoca la imagen como materia.
