Abstract

Das nationalsozialistische Deutschland führte den Zweiten Weltkrieg mit dem Ziel einer von ihm dominierten rassistischen Weltordnung. Dieses schloss den Holocaust, die Vernichtung der europäischen Juden ebenso ein wie die Genozide und Vertreibungen im Osten. Der Krieg des nationalsozialistischen Deutschlands war die größte Katastrophe für die Menschheit, die es je gegeben hat. Er bildet daher heute noch den negativen Bezugsrahmen jeder legitimen Politik. Die im vorliegenden zweiten Band angebotenen Quellen werden der besonderen historischen Bedeutung dieses Ereignisses gerecht. Er bietet neben Schlüsseltexten zur nationalsozialistischen Außenpolitik und Kriegsführung, zum Holocaust und zur NS-Ostpolitik vor allem Materialien, in denen Wahrnehmungen und Handlungen der Menschen selbst zur Geltung kommen.
