Rather than offering a neatly delineated perspective, approaches inspired by STS (science and technology studies) have contributed to this topic alongside history, philosophy and sociology, stimulating empirical investigations and theoretical interpretations, sometimes with a distinctive focus on economic models and economic calculation.
