Estimação de volume de Pterogyne nitens em plantio puro no sudoeste da Bahia

Abstract

A obtencao do volume e fundamental para o entendimento do potencial produtivo de um povoamento florestal. No entanto, como esta variavel nao e facilmente mensuravel, torna-se necessaria a obtencao de estimativas. Esse estudo teve como objetivos selecionar modelos volumetricos e avaliar a eficiencia de tres diferentes metodos para estimar o volume de madeira (fator de forma, quociente de forma e emprego de equacoes volumetricas ajustadas) para a especie Pterogyne nitens Tul. , em plantio puro no Municipio de Vitoria da Conquista, BA, Brasil. Foram cortadas e cubadas, rigorosamente, arvores para obtencao do volume individual. Foram ajustados oito modelos volumetricos, sendo os melhores modelos selecionados com base no criterio de selecao do valor ponderado dos escores dos parâmetros estatisticos e distribuicao de residuos. O modelo de Stoate apresentou melhor performance para estimar tanto o volume do fuste quanto o volume total da arvore com casca de Pterogyne nitens . Todavia, para o volume do fuste, o modelo de Koperzky-Gehrhardt tambem proporcionou estimativas semelhantes ao anterior, podendo ser tambem indicado para a especie. Dentre os metodos utilizados para estimar o volume, o mais recomendado e o emprego de modelos volumetricos ajustados.
