<div class="htmlview paragraph">This is an expository paper on elementary statistical analysis. Confidence intervals for the mean of a population and the difference between the means of two populations are discussed and the concept of hypothesis testing is introduced. Discrete populations are considered but only from a large sample standpoint. The normal and t-distributions are used for making inferences about the population means.</div>
