Windel a compact, flue-cured tobacco cultivar, is recommended for growing in the provinces of Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick, where prevailing high winds cause extensive damage to tall cultivars, such as Delhi 76. Windel is high yielding and exhibits no loss of yield due to leaf drop — an important characteristic for tobacco cultivars grown in Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick.Key words: Tobacco, Nicotiana tabacum, wind resistance, flue-cured
