This review presents some of the progress which has been made in the study of electronic structure of some metals, alloys and oxides. Rather than giving a complete presentation, we develop some subjects which may be representative of the development since ICPA-9. In case of doubt, we choose a subject not already the topic of one of the other main presentations. Our topics are: Alkali metals and the alloy Li-Mg; CeSb,TI2Ba2Cu06, (R)Ba2Cu307-δ, and some remarks on future trends.
