This paper will seek to raise a reflection on the capacity of Brazilian chronicle in portraying the dynamics of daily life through the ideas in the philosophy of everyday life theorized by Michel de Certeau in A Invencao do Cotidiano and Michel Maffesoli in A Conquista do Presente , and also the reflection of fundamental texts by Antonio Candido, Afrânio Coutinho, Eduardo Portella and Davi Arrigucci Jr. about the value of the chronicle as a text which makes the “city done letter”. Therefore, our intention is to represent how much a chronicler can transmit the movement and the local voice through his chronicles. Keywords: Brazilian chronicle, daily life, philosophy of daily life.
