Este artigo pretende lancar algumas pistas de reflexao sobre uma das primeiras manifestacoes da Lusofonia em terras africanas, que ganhou expressao fundamentalmente por via de um movimento sociocultural denominado nativismo. Mediante o enquadramento historico deste movimento, que atingiu o seu apogeu durante as decadas de 20 e 30 do seculo XX, ou seja, numa epoca em que os povos Africanos se encontravam sob a egide do dominio politico e economico de Portugal, procurar-se-a evidenciar a natureza ambigua do nativismo enquanto movimento de resistencia a colonizacao portuguesa.
