Les fouilles archéologiques conduites dans la petite agglomération de Sagone, sur la côte sud-ouest de la Corse, ont permis la découverte d'un mausolée daté des années 430-450 environ. Plusieurs indices suggèrent que le corps du défunt qui y était inhumé a été transféré dans la basilique voisine dont le presbyterium est réaménagé. Ce mausolée pourrait être celui d'Appien, saint titulaire de la basilique. Mots clés : Mausolée, Sépulture, V e siècle, Basilique, Culte des saints Summary : Archaeological excavations carried out in the small town of Sagone, on the southwest coast of Corsica, have led to the discovery of a mausoleum dating from around 430-450. Several clues suggest that the body of the deceased buried there was transferred to the neighbouring basilica, whose presbyterium was refurbished. This mausoleum could be the mausoleum of Appian, the saintly titular saint of the basilica.
