Comment la langue et son accentuation s’adaptent-elles aux contraintes de la mélodie ? De ces deux éléments, qu’est-ce qui prime dans l’élaboration d’un chant ? La mise en évidence de la relation entre l’accentuation des paroles et celle de la mélodie est le but de la prosodie musicale. Dans un corpus de dix-sept anciennes chansons populaires traditionnelles de transmission orale interprétées par Catherine Madec (1894-1974), bretonnante monolingue de Plozévet et collectées en 1964 par Donatien Laurent, il apparaît que les paroles ont une place prépondérante, mais la mélodie a aussi son influence.
