When discussing the prose of Franz Kafka and proposing to read it as a case of “minor literature,” Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari guarded against a possible misconception of the term “minor.” “A minor literature,” they explained, “is not the literature of a minor language but a literature a minority makes in a major language” (116).
